The Jade Quarry
i would like to start a discussion on the jade quarry and ideas on how to make it work so people would start playing it because of right now it is a useless waste of space.
here is my idea that i just came up with off the top of my head and that is: first make it a more guild oriented thing and then make it so if you win the jade quarry on eather side your guild gets to take over one of the towns or something i know this probably wont work but its an idea and well its better then nothing.

I have ofter wondered why no one ever plays it at all. Fort Aspenwood is played and enjoyed, but for some reason, Jade Quarry never became popular.

theres an better idea:
just make both areas explorable... problem solved ...
and then the game needs more competitive missions, ont only these 2 ... the map offers somewhat of huge free unused places, that the map of factions could have theoretically like 6 new competitive missions at least, when not even more

i made the tread not in hopes to make it an explorable area but to make it show people would play it now this is a idea i found on wiki

o For each Jadeeater killed all Teammates nearby get 10 Faction Points.
Gameplay would change a little, becouse chasing Jadeeaters is also an way to win. Killing Transporters and Jadeeaters is an great way to earn faction for active players, longer maches automaticly give more faction for active players becouse of the kills. There also is an time-limit as both teams start with one initial jade-block, so they wont play forever even if all Transporters are killed. Players wich want to chase Jadeeaters also need some new builds (with some slowdown etc, could be a great spot for water-eles).

FA and especially JQ aren't used all that much because characters can't get there unless they have got that far in the campaign. That also means that (unlike AB) people can't use PvP characters.
It's too bad, because FA is really fun.

Dont you remeber they added that NPC in the great temple of balt that let pvp's go there? As for making it explorible that misses the point the op wants people to play there not just map it. Mabay combine the two so its random which one you get put on, or make it smaller scale 4v4 idea just to mix it up from FA, or make it this one is Guild based like you said (the other still as it is to create the mix). There are loads of things the could do and some could just work sadley Factions was the "whopps *brushes under carpet" campain of guild wars and Jade quarrey was the "whopps *brushes under factions".

Easy.
First, remake the Jade Quarry so Kurzick Attack and Luxons defend, oposed to the Aspenwood layout.
Then, close them, and open the one that gives advantage to the team that has less territory (matching AB battle maps). That is, if Luxons control the Harvest Temple, Jade Quarry is open, otherwise, Fort Aspenwood.
Then maybe allow heroes when there are not enough players, something like, you enter the area with 3 heroes, if there empty slots when the timer goes to 0, random heroes of characters enter the game, up to two teams of 2 players and 3 heroes.
Done.

i like the first part i think that would work realy nicely if only anet would do something or read this. heros no thanks we already have enough stuff that has heros and havening heros isnt PLAYER VS PLAYER

well i did say that you make them local to either ( ie ONE ) of these places and not both =.=
Maybe it could be a regular thing, where faction is doubled for one particular mission. ( or if you don't want to make the faction titles easier, halve the faction from everything else )

I think the main reason people don't play Jade Quary is that people don't play Jade Quarry. Really, you can't get in within a reasonable amount of time here. And because players know they can't get in they don't even bother trying anymore.
Every time I was able to get in I enjoyed the game, so that's not the prblem. It's just the self-fulfilling prophecy that you can't get in that brought the Quarry into a downward spiral. A solution could be to have some AI-controlled players to fill teams to 8 if there are not enough players.

Everyone I've ever talked to likes Quarry more than Aspenwood. The reason nobody goes there is because it's so far out of the way. I think we should make the Quarry give +25% more faction than FA. That will be an incentive.

I was actually not aware of that, thanks!
They should add FA/JQ to the Luxon/Kurzick ambassadors in guild halls, not just for people like me who didn't know you could get PvP characters there, but just as a reminder to people joining ABs via the guild hall, that FA/JQ exist.

Answer these:
1) Are you a player?
2) Is at least on of your opponents a player?
3) Do you get Balthazar faction for it?
4) Are you able to use PvE-only skills?
If you answered yes, yes, yes, and no to the above questions, than you might be playing PvP. Contact your doctor for help.
